"I have thought that I want to mix the 4 factors (Delicacy, Elegance, Boldness and Wildness) into 1 vessel, then I developed “Gold & Platinum (silver) colored ICHIMATSU pattern” on my ceramic work. I think a great deal of the contrast between mat taste of high-fired unglazed clay and Brightness of glaze with “Gold & Platinum (silver) colored ICHIMATSU pattern.
My technique to make an ICHIMATSU pattern only on a part of the glaze is unusual so as to be unique in the world. It is hard to make a lot of this series because of the attentiveness of the work, but I want to produce them as my masterpiece in future." Hiroyuki Tomita, August 2018
