Brian Rochefort
Brian Rochefort is a contemporary sculptor and painter masterfully creating large-scale ceramic forms. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design in 2007.Currently, Rochefort develops his artwork from the resident studios at The Archie Bray Foundation (Helena, Mt) where he was awarded the Lillian Artist Fellowship and the Rudy Autio Scholarship in 2008. He is currently one of the only American ceramic artist using DuPont automobile paint on clay. This has lead to recognition through the DuPont company where leading DuPont developers have supplied Rochefort with certain specialized paints that aren't even available on the market yet.
Brian claims that each work is a cacophony of pop culture iconography, vanity, and simultaneous mockery of celebrity status. Brian’s Energy Gloops, as he has named them, shamelessly embody true materialism and resplendence. When Brian is asked about the meaning of these works, he states, "They are the unadulterated truth, pure rock ‘n roll!"
